Crater Lake

Crater lake is about 5 hours from Portland and is so worth the drive. The water is this magnificent blue. I kept reading about the color blue but it didn't really hit me until I saw it. It this deep blue that is pure and peaceful.

I won't bore you with too many details of Crater Lake but it is about 1900 feet deep, the sunlight penetrates to about 700 feet down which is the most recorded, no fish are indigenous to the lake and the air is very clean which allows visitors to have full access to the other side.

Crater Lake was an amazing site and I'm glad that we were able to stop and see it. Its so beautiful and serene.
